Teachers’ Day Celebrations
“God understood our thirst for knowledge, our need to be led by someone wiser, someone who could see potential and bring out the best in others. So He made Teachers.”
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety at The Indian Heights School on September 5, 2016 in the school premies. To honour all the teachers who had been instrumental in shaping their lives, the students expressed their gratitude by presenting colourful programs to entertain their mentors. Students of Little Steps and Primary Wing presented a fun filled morning with variety of activities like Music Corners, Tug of War and 50 Meter Race which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the teachers.
Senior students put up a spectacular show for the occasion. The one-and-a-half hour programme consisted of foot tapping songs, groovy dances and fun-filled interactions with teachers. The event commenced with the school Principal Ms Archana Narain paying a floral tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher, scholar, teacher and first President of the country, in whose memory Teachers’ Day is celebrated. In her address, she applauded all the teachers for their invaluable contribution and further reminded the student populace to follow the great ideals to remain focused on their objectives and goals to move ahead in life. The other highlight of the day was that students of class XI & XII took over the mantle of responsibility as teachers and took charge of the school for a day, thus expressing their gratitude towards their teachers .
Later during the day a cultural afternoon was organized to enthrall the teachers. A scintillating cultural program engrossed teachers in singing, dancing, skit presentation and a fabulous fashion show followed by lunch. In all it was a memorable day cherished by all the faculty members of TIHS
